Covid completed the disconnect between my mind and body. I had neglected my appearance before, but not having to dress or bathe or be seen at all initiated a whole new level of unhealthy habits in me that made me feel as though I had lost my own voice. I knew that I needed professional help, but I had never had a personal trainer or a wellness coach before.
When I started FIG, I had a few expectations about what I wanted to do with the training. What I didn't anticipate were all of the benefits outside of simply receiving coaching for exercise and tips for better eating and mindfulness.
Rachel supports the whole person - not just the physical body and goals for health and weight loss, but also the mind. For me, she started with re-training the voice in my head that is my worst critic and led me all the way to envisioning my future self to even know where to look for the dreams I most wanted to capture and make my own. Each week has been a journey deeper into myself - moving away the negative conversations, self denigration, and humiliation and expanding back out to explore the beautiful person that I am. Thanks to FIG, I’m uncovering my inner beauty and confidence - something that I had discarded because I had stopped appreciating the physical body that I’d been given.
Without a doubt I will be doing another 12 week session - I’ve got a good thing going with FIG. The work that we have accomplished weekly has not only saved and restored me, but it has really had an impact on my depression and stabilized me during quarantine. I’m amazed by Rachel’s training and exercises and how she challenges me to open my entire being to possibility.”
